HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY FACILITATE SOCIAL COLLABORATIVE LEARNING COMMUNITIES

5-Feb-2020  17:30 – 18:30

Whilst the concept of socialised learning communities is far from new, research evidence shows a re-emergence of their value and use in organisations and development settings. A key driver is the widespread availability of technologies that connect learners.

However, as many will have found, their success is far from guaranteed. If that’s your experience, or if you are planning to lever learning communities, this workshop will provide key insights for success.

Through an interactive format the workshop explores the following four key questions that underpin successful social collaborative learning communities with practical take-aways to energise learning communities in your context.

 What does research reveal about the re-emergence of learning communities?
- Apply five insights from recent research reports and consider their relevance to your context

 How do learning communities support performance and innovation?
- Explore the value of ‘communities of practice’ and ‘adjacent communities’

 Who owns a learning community and why it matters?
- Empower learners to run communities and establish the dangers of over-management

 What does it take to innovate and sustain vibrant learning communities?
- Define why learning communities often fail and the apply the “7Cs model” for success
