Using Technology to Increase Behavioral Fitness, Engagement and Performance in the 2020 Workplace

8-Mar-2018 11:35 - 12:35

Today’s workplace is more complex and networked than ever before. In a VUCA environment we have to adapt the way we behave and communicate. We also need to measure and manage people performance in a fundamentally different way. Our always-on, multitasking mental system is constantly at risk of social interaction overload. No wonder that behavioural fitness is of paramount importance to ensure a positive and happy performance. When we are confronted with high pressure from clients or colleagues, when we feel the urge to deliver quick results in tight deadlines – that is when unproductive behaviours pop up. We become biased and judgemental, we fail in our attempt to listen attentively to the ideas of others and we become firefighters without being able to add value to the team. Thanks to the use of technology we become aware of (the impact of) this unproductive behaviour and we can start improving performance. By using human analytics and behavioural measurement, we can fine-tune how we communicate and improve the outcome of our collective performance.  Applying the right technologies helps organisations grow in a fundamentally different way, from hiring, on-boarding, and sharing knowledge to succession planning. In this presentation we will highlight a number of innovative techniques that will fundamentally change tomorrow’s workplace.
