Guiding Change: Developing a Night Vision

16-Jun-2022 15:45 - 16:45

The theme of this conference is 'Adapt or Die’. So far, so obvious. So, why is it that organisations do all the 'right things' and still die (or decline, or become irrelevant to their environment)? The issue lies in the way we think about people and organisations. In short, in the way we think we actually create a lot of our own problems. Can leaders, consultants and coaches become more effective in guiding change in complex organisations? Can they become more perceptive and skilled in understanding, analysing and influencing the process of change? This is the goal of the Executive Master in Change (EMC) Programme at INSEAD, a unique and intense course of deep and practical professional development in the field of organisational change and transformation. In this interactive session, EMC Programme Directors Profs. Saskia de Maat and Michael Shiel will share their own up-to-date learning and insights on 1. How we might start to rethink our views on both human complexity and system (organization) complexity, 2. What we need to develop to navigate these complexities better and 3. How we can learn and enhance these skills. They will encourage workshop participants to discuss their own current challenges and activities.
