He currently serves as the CEO of the General Insurance Sector at Tawuniya, where he leads all P&C operations and reinsurance activities.
Sultan’s achievements include founding Riyadh Re, Tawuniya’s fully owned reinsurance company; sponsoring award-winning Saudi talent development programs; leading Tawuniya’s General Sector to win “General Insurance Company of the Year 2024”; and playing a key role in establishing Tawuniya as the largest insurance company in the MENA region (2023). Sultan is also the sponsor and driving force behind Tawuniya’s award-winning Talent Advancement Program (TAP), an 18-month professional development initiative designed to build and elevate young Saudi insurance professionals. Originally launched over a decade ago as the Fast-Track Insurance Technical Program, TAP evolved under his leadership into one of the most advanced insurance training models in the region. In 2025, the program received international recognition from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in London—affirming its global standard and industry impact. TAP has produced many of today’s leading Saudi insurance practitioners and continues to contribute to the development of the Kingdom’s insurance talent pipeline.
Sultan holds a Master’s degree in Insurance and Risk Management (with Distinction) from Cass Business School, alongside an ACII qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). He also holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University. He has further strengthened his leadership credentials through advanced executive programs at globally renowned institutions including London Business School, Harvard, INSEAD, IMD, Chicago Booth, and Ashridge.
A recognized industry figure, Sultan serves on the Boards of several organizations in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, including Chemanol, AWRIS, and United Insurance Company. He has contributed to executive, audit, risk, strategy, investment, and nomination committees, and is certified in board directorship from both BDI and IMD. He is also actively engaged in national and regional committees, including SAMA’s P&C & Reinsurance Committee and the Gulf Insurance Federation Technical Committee.
