João Filipe Torneiro is a senior executive, advisor, and educator with over 30 years of experience leading business transformation, commercial strategy and growth across complex and regulated industries. He is Guest Speaker and Executive in Residence at Nova SBE, where he teaches Strategic Marketing, Commercial Management and Customer Centricity.

He is Managing Partner at Filipe Torneiro Consulting, a strategic advisory boutique supporting organisations in sectors such as energy, financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals, and mobility. His work focuses on helping leadership teams embed customer centricity into decision-making, culture and operating models, translating strategy into measurable commercial performance and long-term value creation.

Previously, João held CEO and senior leadership roles within the Galp Group, leading Iberian marketing and sales organisations, driving international expansion, and delivering sustained profitability improvements. His background in engineering and operations, including roles at OGMA and as a merchant navy officer, shaped a pragmatic, execution-driven leadership approach grounded in real-world complexity.

João holds degrees in Mechanical and Marine Engineering, advanced marketing qualifications from IPAM, and executive education from INSEAD, London Business School and Kellogg School of Management.
