Professor Sergey Gorbatov combines his extensive background in human resources, organizational behavior, and executive education to inspire and educate future business leaders. With over two decades of experience delivering exceptional results across a diverse range of roles, his deep expertise lies in the areas of Talent Management, Leadership Development and Organizational Effectiveness. Sergey thrives in complex environments that demand innovation, quick decision-making and effective teamwork. Having worked in headquarters, regional and affiliate organizations, Sergey possesses invaluable firsthand knowledge of operating in multinational matrix environments at renowned companies, such as AbbVie, PMI and Shell. His assignments included leading a global Talent Management remit, HR for Latin America, and developing the general manager pipeline.

Sergey earned his MA in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication at Orel State University in Russia, complemented with an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. He obtained his Ph.D. in Management at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Collaborating with Angela Lane, he has co-authored two influential books: 'Fair Talk: Three Steps to Powerful Feedback' and 'Move Up or Move On: 10 Secrets to Develop Your Career,' making the complex science of human behavior simple.

A global citizen, Sergey is passionate about cultures, diversity, and languages. A Russian native, he has lived and worked in Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States.
